to Speak at Intranets 2001 Conference. -February 5, 2001

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Erik Perotti, V.P. of Development for Imagesmith Inc., has been chosen to speak at the Intranets 2001 Conference at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Ca. His presentation, entitled "Culture isn't Just in the Design" will be Monday, April 30 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Perotti emphasizes that part of the inherent value of an intranet is to preserve, protect and enhance culture. He states that "...the Information Architect's challenge is to create an intranet environment which acts as a vital communication tool while embracing company culture."

Perotti's presentation will explore how to be an interpreter, not a determiner, of a client's culture; how to express culture in the information architecture and visual design of a site; how to help a client define how they perceive themselves internally versus how they project themselves externally (intranet culture vs. internet culture), and how to be sensitive to a company's cultural perceptions as they change over time.

"It's a great opportunity to share experiences and findings with other people facing similar challenges" says Perotti, who served as Director of Information Architecture at iXL before joining Imagesmith.
